  • Interviewed an undocumented immigrant living in sanctuary at a local church to observe the effects of stricter immigration laws
  • Wrote an article detailing the tradition of small town football by interviewing attendees and observing the game
  • Wrote a story on a local boutique thrift store that has become well known for its fashion forward choices and philanthropy

Digital Intern

  • Researched topics and selected articles for 5 newsletters that are sent to 125,000 readers with a 5% click-through rate

Leadership and Community Involvement

CAROLINA FOR THE KIDS FOUNDATION, Morale & Recruitment Chair, Chapel Hill, NC | August 2015 – Present

  • Collaborate with 15 members of the Executive Board to plan fundraisers and events for the largest student-run nonprofit in North Carolina
  • Lead 39 Moral and Recruitment committee members in endeavors to recruit dancers for our annual Dance Marathon, of which we receive 1,500 sign ups each year on average
  • Incentivize dancers to raise $200 each through fundraisers and emails, resulting in $500,000 raised each year on average

SUP DOGS RESTAURANT, Waitress, Chapel Hill, NC | May 2016 – Present

  • Operate social media accounts during major events, including the UNC-Duke basketball game
  • Provide successful customer service by seating customers, taking orders, and handling food and drinks at the highest-grossing restaurant in downtown Chapel Hill
